  79.          The purpose of Pack2Dsk is to copy files to floppies (or
  80.          other removeable media) and store them in the most
  81.          diskspace-efficient manner possible.
  82.  
  83.          Pack2Dsk is currently distributed as Shareware. It is not
  84.          free. Shareware is software that you can examine on a trial
  85.          basis. If you decide to use Pack2Dsk beyond the trial
  86.          period, you are required to register as a user and send
  87.          IntelliSys the registration fee. (See below for information
  88.          about how to register your copy.) You are encouraged to
  89.          pass a copy of Pack2Dsk along to your friends for
  90.          evaluation. Please encourage them to register their copy as
  91.          well if they find it useful.

  93.          Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like
  94.          commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable
  95.          quality. Distributing software as shareware saves money for
  96.          the software developer by allowing distribution through
  97.          low-cost channels, while presenting you with a quality
  98.          product at a savings. The Shareware concept can only work
  99.          for the benefit of all computer users if the users of
  100.          Shareware pay for its use. Please refer to the LICENSE
  101.          AGREEMENT for terms for use of Pack2Dsk.

  112.          services, as well as developing Shareware applications. We

  127.                           SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT

  129.          READ THIS LICENSE AGREEMENT BEFORE USING Pack2Dsk. THIS
  130.          AGREEMENT IS A LEGAL CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU, THE USER OF
  131.          Pack2Dsk, AND INTELLISYS GOVERNING YOUR USE OF Pack2Dsk.
  132.          THIS AGREEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ENTIRE AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU
  133.          AND INTELLISYS WITH RESPECT TO THE USE OF Pack2Dsk. USING
  134.          Pack2Dsk INDICATES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT. THIS
  135.          AGREEMENT SHALL ALSO BE BINDING ON ANY SUBSEQUENT,
  136.          AUTHORIZED LICENSEE. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO AGREE TO THE
  137.          TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, DO NOT USE Pack2Dsk.

  139.                                     License
  140.  
  141.          IntelliSys grants you a non-exclusive license to use the
  142.          Pack2Dsk software program and documentation as specified in
  143.          this Agreement. You may use Pack2Dsk for a reasonable
  144.          period of time while you decide whether to become a
  145.          registered user of Pack2Dsk. After using Pack2Dsk for a
  146.          reasonable period of time, you may not use Pack2Dsk without
  147.          becoming a registered user.
  148.  
  149.          As a registered user, you may use Pack2Dsk on a single
  150.          computer or terminal at a time. In addition, you may make
  151.          one backup copy of Pack2Dsk.
  152.  
  153.          This Agreement specifically does not grant to you or anyone
  154.          any rights to patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and
  155.          trademarks. You acknowledge and agree that Pack2Dsk is
  156.          owned by IntelliSys and is protected by United States
  157.          copyright law and international treaty provisions. You
  158.          agree to safeguard Pack2Dsk as copyrighted material. You
  159.          acknowledge that the structure and organization of Pack2Dsk
  160.          are the valuable trade secrets of IntelliSys. You agree to
  161.          hold such trade secrets in confidence.
  162.  
  163.          You may not distribute Pack2Dsk for any kind of
  164.          remuneration without prior authorization from IntelliSys.
  165.          You may not distribute Pack2Dsk as part of any other
  166.          software or hardware package. However, IntelliSys
  167.          encourages you to distribute copies of Pack2Dsk, without
  168.          charging for the copies, so that others may decide whether
  169.          to become registered users. In addition, as a registered
  170.          user, you may transfer your rights under this Agreement on
  171.          a permanent basis provided you transfer your registered
  172.          copy of Pack2Dsk and any backup copy and provided the
  173.          recipient agrees to the terms of this Agreement. Such a
  174.          permanent transfer ends your license to use Pack2Dsk. You
  175.          may not transfer obsolete versions of Pack2Dsk. Other than
  176.          as provided in this paragraph, you may not loan,
  177.          sublicense, rent, lease, sublease, or otherwise transfer
  178.          any right to use Pack2Dsk.

  184.          You may not make copies of Pack2Dsk, or any portion of it,
  185.          except as expressly provided in this Agreement. You may not
  186.          reproduce, transmit, transcribe, store in a retrieval
  187.          system, or translate into any language Pack2Dsk or any part
  188.          of it. You may not disassemble, decompile, reverse
  189.          engineer, or create derivative works based on Pack2Dsk or
  190.          any portion of it.
  191.  
  192.                   Limited Warranty and Limitation of Remedies
  193.  
  194.          IntelliSys warrants that the diskette containing a
  195.          registered copy of Pack2Dsk and the accompanying
  196.          documentation shall be free from defects in materials and
  197.          workmanship under normal use for a period of thirty days
  198.          from the date the diskette is sent to you. To exercise your
  199.          rights under this warranty, you must return the defective
  200.          product to IntelliSys at your expense within the warranty
  201.          period. IntelliSys will then replace the product or return
  202.          your purchase price, at its option. IntelliSys's entire
  203.          liability and your exclusive remedy and sole measure of
  204.          recoverable damages under this Agreement shall be, at
  205.          IntelliSys's option, (1) return of the purchase price paid,
  206.          or (2) replacement of the defective product. In the event
  207.          of replacement of a diskette, IntelliSys shall warrant the
  208.          replacement for the remainder of the original thirty days
  209.          or for fourteen days, whichever is longer.

  211.          Pack2Dsk IS PROVIDED "AS IS" EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH
  212.          IN THE PRECEDING PARAGRAPH. THE WARRANTY IN THE PRECEDING
  213.          PARAGRAPH IS THE ONLY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS
  214.          OR IMPLIED, CONCERNING Pack2Dsk, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED
  215.          TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS
  216.          FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NEITHER INTELLISYS NOR ANYONE WHO
  217.          HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN THE CREATION, PRODUCTION, OR DELIVERY
  218.          OF Pack2Dsk SHALL BE LIABLE TO ANYONE FOR ANY LOST PROFITS
  219.          OR ANY INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR
  220.          SPECIAL DAMAGES OR COSTS (INCLUDING LEGAL EXPENSES OR LOSS
  221.          OF GOODWILL) ARISING OUT OF USE OF, OR THE INABILITY TO
  222.          USE, Pack2Dsk EVEN IF INTELLISYS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE
  223.          POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOST PROFITS, DAMAGES, OR COSTS.

  225.                                     General
  226.  
  227.          If any provision of this Agreement shall be unlawful, void,
  228.          or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall
  229.          be deemed severable from this Agreement and shall not
  230.          affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining
  231.          provisions of this Agreement. This Agreement shall be
  232.          governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any
  233.          civil action or other proceeding that may be brought
  234.          concerning Pack2Dsk or this Agreement shall be brought only
  235.          in a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction

  241.          located within the city of Roanoke, Virginia. If any civil
  242.          action or other proceeding is brought in any other forum,
  243.          ones bringing the action or joining the action shall be
  244.          liable, jointly and severally, to IntelliSys, its
  245.          employees, and agents for any costs whatever associated
  246.          with defending the action or other proceeding, including
  247.          attorney fees and consequential costs such as travel
  248.          expenses and lost wages.

  250.          IntelliSys reserves the right, at it's sole discretion, to
  251.          change, modify, or update Pack2Dsk at any time without
  252.          notifying anyone. IntelliSys reserves the right to offer
  253.          updates to Pack2Dsk either free of charge or for an
  254.          additional charge.
  255.  
  256.          Trademarks of all products mentioned herein are property of
  257.          their respective owners.

  265.                                 USING Pack2Dsk
  266.

  268.          When files are copied to another drive, typically the files
  269.          get copied "first come, first served". That is, the least
  270.          modified files get copied first and the most modified files
  271.          get copied last. Pretty silly scheme for efficient disk
  272.          storage, huh? Pack2dsk (or Pack-to-Diskette, if you will)
  273.          solves this problem by quickly determining the next file
  274.          that will just fit in the available space on the floppy and
  275.          moves it.

  278.          COMMAND LINE OPTIONS
  279.  
  280.          Usage is as follows:
  281.  
  282.                  PACK2DSK d: [filespec]
  283.  
  284.          where d: is the destination drive - where the files will be
  285.          copied to - and filespec is an optional wildcard parameter
  286.          specifying the files to copy from the current directory.
  287.          For example:

  289.                  *.DOC        or,
  290.  
  291.                  *.EXE        or,
  292.  
  293.                  *.*          the default.
  294.  
  295.          Pack2Dsk followed by:
  296.  
  297.                  /?        displays command line help.
  298.  
  299.                  /M        moves files instead of copying them.

  301.          After the program begins, you will be asked to put a
  302.          diskette in the drive and press a key. After you press a
  303.          key, Pack2Dsk will fill the floppy and ask for a new floppy
  304.          - until all the files in the current directory are copied.

  307.          NETWORK ACCESS
  308.  
  309.          This is not a multi-user application. It was not written to
  310.          allow access to its files by more than one user/session at
  311.          time.

  320.          To register your copy of Pack2Dsk, simply print the file
  321.          ORDERFRM.TXT by executing the following DOS command:

  325.          and send the completed form with your check or money order
  326.          for $20 and $5 for shipping and handling to the address
  327.          above.
